Open Water Coaching by South West Swim

Open Water Coaching by South West Swim sessions are provided by Jason Tait, a qualified Open Water Specialist Coach for both ASA & STA governing bodies. He has coached swimmers from total beginner to those representing their country as GB triathletes.

Jason says: “The aim is to make you the best you can be. I’ll educate, inspire and improve you in a friendly and fun way”.

Open water swimming and triathlon events are two of the most popular growing sports in the UK.

South West Swim aim to get as many people as possible into open water swimming. To allow them to experience the pleasures, challenges, relaxation and sense of achievement it brings.

They help the swimmer to learn and train effectively by focussing on providing the necessary knowledge, skills and equipment for the individual to succeed.

In addition, Jason also runs the weekly Open Water squad sessions for a successful local swimming club.

There’s good reason why it works.

Jason swims open water so he understands open water. There’s a huge difference between open water and pool swimming. By tweaking stroke technique South West Swim allows you to swim more efficiently, much smoother and faster. With advanced understanding of open water skills, they guide you as to how and when to apply these during your swimming.

South West Swim services include:

Introduction to Open Water – for individuals new to the open water sport

Weekly Group sessions

1-2-1 Open Water Coaching

Where possible technology is utilised to make the learning experience the very best. Everybody gets as much individual attention as possible.

New! Video Analysis

South West Swim provide video analysis sessions. Pool based, delivered on a 1-2-1 basis, this involves your stroke being recorded on film from multiple angles using specialist videoing equipment. It is then analysed with you leading to advice on how to improve your stroke and avoid common injuries.

In 2015 limited sessions of video analysis will be available in the Lakes too.
